Introduction of the Faculty of Foreign Languages

The Faculty of Foreign Languages is responsible for the following functions and missions:
The Faculty is an administrative management unit under the College, directly managing and organizing the implementation of teaching, learning, scientific research and other educational activities in accordance with the plans and regulations of the College, including:
1. Managing lecturers, employees and students under the Faculty as decentralized by the Principal;
2. Planning and organizing the implementation of training activities in accordance with the general plan of the College, including:
2.1. Setting up and developing assigned training programs; organizing the compilation of textbooks and curricula in accordance with the development orientation of the College. 
2.2 Regularly revising programs and textbooks to build up plans, amend programs and textbooks on the basis of improvement and supplementation research in order to constantly renovate training programs and textbooks in accordance with the reality.
2.3. Organizing researches on improvement of teaching and learning methods; formulating and implementing methods of examining and evaluating students' learning and training results, ensuring learners' output standards, meeting the demands of enterprises;
2.4. Managing teaching and learning quality within the management’s scope of the Faculty: Management professional tasks, allocating official lecturers, inviting visiting lecturers for the training systems of the College; Checking and reporting the statistics on teaching amount of lecturers of the Faculty; Implementing teaching regulations of lecturers;
2.5. Developing annual operation plan of the Faculty in accordance with the orientation of the College;
2.6. Planning and organizing the implementation of scientific research activities, cooperating with enterprises related to the training professions and mobilizing the participation of enterprises in the training process of the Faculty;
2.7. Coordinating with the Department of Training, Science Administration and International Collaboration to organize make-up lessons and re-summing courses; coordinating with Department of Assessment and Education Quality Assurance to organize examination and final examination for students;
3. Assigning lecturers of the Faculty to work as head teachers for classes; Assessing and classifying the learning and training results of students under the management of the Faculty through periodic reports of the head teachers according to semesters and school years. Based on the training quality, proposing changes to improve the training quality;
4. Planning the training, practical training to improve professional qualifications for members in the Faculty; Identifying and recommending proficient lecturers to the College to recruit official lecturers or to invite as visiting lecturers;
5. Carrying out procedures for payment of teaching fees for visiting lecturers and overtime amount for lecturers of the Faculty;
6. Managing and effectively using materials and training equipment of the Faculty as regulated; proposing, developing additional plans, maintaining equipment of the unit;
7. Implementing the reporting regime as regulated.

Organizational structure
The Faculty of Foreign Languages has 02 affiliated Departments, including:
1. Specialized Foreign Language Department;
2. Department of Basic Foreign Languages and Interpretation

Functions and missions of Departments under the Faculty
The Departments are specialized units under the faculty, directly carrying out and being responsible for academics, training, scientific research activities and other professional tasks assigned by the College, including:
1. Implementing the contents, quality, teaching and learning progress of a number of subjects in the training program and general teaching plans of the College and the Faculty;
2. Developing and improving the contents of the subjects, compiling the curriculum, lectures, and reference materials related to the group subjects assigned by the Dean and the Principal;   
3. Planning and organizing training activities (teaching, practice, field trips, …) for the subjects managed by the Departments;
4. Ensuring the implementation of the contents, programs, and the progress of teaching and learning for subjects as regulated;
5. Carrying out inspection and evaluation of teaching quality of lecturers in the Departments. Organizing the Departments’ activities on the content of the training program to improve the training quality;
6. Implementing scientific research activities under the specialized fields of the Departments;
7. Proposing training, practical training, field trips in order to upgrade the qualifications of lecturers in the Departments;
8. Taking main responsibility for inviting lecturers for subjects undertaken by the Department;
9. Managing facilities and equipment of the Departments as assigned by the College and Faculty;
10. Performing other duties assigned by the Faculty and the College.
